Our Philosophy

OUR VISION

We aim to operate a cooperatively governed organisation,
benefiting tamariki and their whānau of today and the future.

NPCC is a not-for-profit incorporated society.

We are governed by an elected committee that consists of
parents, whānau and community members.

Our committee set our strategic vision, and our management
and teaching team work to realise this vision.

OUR VALUES

Northcote Point Community Creche (Early Learning Centre)

a place where every child and family is welcome.
We are committed to creating a warm, inclusive, and respectful place where whānau, tamariki, and kaiako feel a deep sense of belonging.

Ngā Whānau (The family)

Strong partnerships between whānau, tamariki, and kaiako are at the heart of our learning community. By sharing our knowledge, experiences, and strengths, we work together to enrich and nurture each child’s learning journey.

Ngā Tamariki (The child)

We recognise and value the unique strengths each child bringsWe value play as a powerful pathway for purposeful learning that supports curiosity, creativity, communication, courage, and confidence.

Ngā Kaiako (The teacher)

Through intentional teaching, kaiako nurture children’s dispositions for learning by fostering meaningful opportunities for growth. They do this through attentive listening, thoughtful reflection, responsive teaching, and respectful relationships.

Ngā Hononga (The relationship)

We believe respectful, and inclusive relationships are at the heart of learning. Through trust, kindness, and genuine connection, tamariki, whānau, and kaiako build a sense of belonging where everyone feels valued, welcomed, and supported.

Ngā Taiao (The environment)

Within a caring, family-like atmosphere, tamariki feel safe to explore, wonder, take risks, and enjoy learning. Thoughtfully designed spaces, open-ended resources, and opportunities for independent and collaborative learning, support tamariki to grow as confident learners.

Dan Harrison

Our four kids have attended NPCC and we are grateful for the great kaiako - teachers and the korowai of aroha - cloak of love provided for all tamariki. As a not for profit community based organisation the focus is on doing the best for the children. We highly recommend NPCC to all parents looking for a great place to support their child's growth and development in a loving, enriching environment.

We couldn't be more grateful for this beautiful center. The Kaiako are extremely nurturing and dedicated to ensuring this space is everything you would wish for, for the Tamariki and so much more. There is the highest level of commitment to the curriculum and to ever evolving and improving all aspects of the center. We love having our youngest here
